Our Story

Live Oak Group Formed

1983

Live Oak Group is established as a privately-held commercial real estate company with a reputation for integrity and creativity across a broad array of Class A projects, including office and retail properties in Central Texas and other regionally-based markets. Over the next 25 years, its founders built an asset portfolio of more than 700,000 square feet, as well as a vertically-integrated real estate services company.

The Gottesman Company is formed by Sandy Gottesman after his departure from a 20-year career with the Trammell Crow Company. With a well-recognized expertise in the industrial, office, retail, and land development sectors, The Gottesman Company goes on to play a significant role in Austin's commercial real estate marketplace, developing over 3 million square feet of space and leaving an indelible mark on the city.

Merger

2007

Live Oak Group and The Gottesman Co. agree to merge. The teams' shared goal was to maximize the synergy of a combined office and industrial development and services platform in Central Texas. Key to the success of the new merger is the addition of a team of Trammell Crow Company leasing agents and property managers, who bring an institutional level of quality to Live Oak’s third-party services platform.

Leadership Transition

2015

Live Oak is reorganized to reflect a new leadership team and a renewed focus on disciplined growth through development and investment. Scott Flack, Mike Joyce, Doug Thomas, and Rhonda Jaquez become managing partners.
